Well-being Practitioners

Offer your clients a non-talk, non-intrusive option to heal by helping them eliminate the cause of negative feelings and emotions, without repeatedly talking through painful experiences.

As a well‑being practitioner, you already understand how emotional strain can sit underneath physical symptoms, life patterns, relationship struggles, and “stuck” states. You may also have clients who are tired of talking, hesitant to disclose, or not progressing as far as you believe is possible. MEM offers a way to address the cause of emotional upsets in a structured, results‑focused process that respects both your client’s privacy and your professional judgment.

WHAT DATA SAYS

Those who support others’ well‑being are themselves under significant emotional pressure.

%

35.4% of U.S. health care workers reported burnout in 2021, and levels remained above pre‑pandemic rates in subsequent years. More than one in three people in helping professions reported feeling burnt out.

%

30–40% of professionals in mental health, dental, and rehabilitation services reported burnout in 2023, up from the high‑20s to low‑30s in 2018. Burnout levels rose markedly in roles focused on supporting others’ health and well‑being.

%

25.6% vs 18.6% of caregivers, compared with non‑caregivers, report a lifetime diagnosis of depression, and caregivers also have higher rates of frequent mental distress and several other negative health indicators.

WHY CONSIDER MEM

You are already committed to helping people feel better, live better, and realise more of their potential. You may work as a counsellor, coach, psychologist, therapist, bodyworker, complementary health practitioner, educator, or spiritual guide. Regardless of your modality, one theme tends to show up: some clients get better, but others remain held back by feelings they cannot quite shift.

Causism describes a simple truth: feelings control lives. They determine what people say, think, do, and believe about themselves. The Mace Energy Method (MEM) focuses directly on the negative feelings and identities created in moments of upset and provides a way to dissolve them, leaving the person closer to their natural, positive self.

For practitioners, this means an additional tool for those clients who are ready for change but remain stuck, those who are exhausted by retelling their stories, and those who want a more direct route to emotional relief.

MEM AND YOUR PRACTICE

The Mace Energy Method is the practical component of Causism, a body of knowledge devoted to emotional health and happiness. It was developed over decades of observation and refinement to give people a simple, structured way to eliminate the negative aspects of unwanted experiences.

MEM uses a series of guided “energy exercises” to locate and dis‑create the mental images associated with emotional pain. When those images are dis‑created, the linked feelings and non‑optimum behaviours are eliminated. The process is designed to address cause rather than manage effects.

Because MEM is non‑intrusive and does not rely on extended talk, it can complement a wide range of existing modalities. Practitioners integrate it alongside therapy, coaching, complementary medicine, bodywork, naturopathy, energy work, and other well‑being services to create deeper, faster shifts for their clients.

FEATURES

Limited or no disclosure

MEM is entirely free of self‑disclosure. Clients are not required to describe traumatic events, disclose sensitive histories, or explain what their internal images represent. The work is done through simple, unvoiced mental exercises guided by the practitioner.

This allows you to support clients safely even when their experiences are highly personal, legally sensitive, or difficult to discuss. It also reduces the risk of re‑traumatisation through repeated storytelling.

Non‑talk, non‑confrontational process

MEM is not counselling, analysis, coaching, or advice. It was developed to avoid the painful aspect of going over distressing life events. Sessions are structured, gentle, and focused on dissolving the emotional charge rather than interpreting the story.

This is particularly valuable for clients who are tired of talking, who feel “stuck” after years of therapy, or who prefer an internal, experiential process that leaves them feeling empowered rather than analysed.

Works alongside your current methods

MEM does not require you to abandon the tools you already trust. Instead, it can become a powerful addition to your toolkit. Many practitioners use MEM to clear underlying emotional charge and then use their existing methods to support integration, lifestyle change, and ongoing growth.

Because MEM is clearly defined and structured, you can integrate it into treatment plans, coaching programs, or well‑being journeys in a way that fits your style and your clients’ needs.

Backed by a professional training and accreditation pathway

As a practitioner, you need more than a technique; you need a framework. The Causism Institute offers a full training pathway, from the Causism Apprenticeship Program through to specialisation, facilitation, and mentorship.

Graduates become licensed MEM Practitioners, members of the International Association of Causism Practitioners, and are eligible for recognition by the International Institute of Complementary Therapists (IICT), with access to professional indemnity and public liability insurance for MEM practice.

BENEFITS

For your clients

Clients who experience MEM frequently describe feeling lighter, calmer, clearer, and more themselves, often after carrying emotional pain for many years. They may report:

  • Relief from anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm.
  • Reduced anger, guilt, shame, or self‑blame.
  • Improved relationships, sleep, and capacity to cope.
  • Freedom from long‑standing emotional patterns they thought were “just who I am.”

Because MEM does not require detailed disclosure, many people feel safe enough to finally address issues they have never spoken about before.

For your professional practice

Adding MEM to your practice can:

  • Expand what you are able to offer clients who have plateaued with other approaches.
  • Differentiate your services with a clearly defined, results‑focused method.
  • Support your own professional well‑being by giving you a structured process to handle heavy emotional presentations without absorbing your clients’ distress.
  • Open new pathways for specialisation, including work with trauma, addictions, anxiety, depression, grief, burnout, and more.
For your own inner work

All MEM Practitioner training requires that you personally experience and complete MEM sessions. This is not just a prerequisite; it is part of the philosophy so that you can skillfully guide others through a process you have not ‘lived’ yourself.

MEM Practitioners often report profound personal shifts during training, including increased self‑respect, greater emotional freedom, and a clearer sense of their own purpose in helping others.

Practitioner Voices

Every MEM Practitioner has a story about how this work changed their own life and practice. Many first came to MEM as clients after years of trying other approaches, working through heavy personal experiences, or searching for something that would go deeper than “managing” symptoms, then chose to train so they could offer the same kind of change to others.
